Gregory Scott Sampson

NASHVILLE

Gregory Scott Sampson, 46, of Nashville, died Friday December 29, 2017 at Columbus Regional Health.

Gregory graduated from North Central High School in Indianapolis and attended Purdue University.

He was employed by Marsh beginning in high school until July 2017.

He then became the store manager for Dollar General, Princess Lakes.

Gregory loved aircraft and flight simulators. He was also proud that he was able to pilot an aircraft as well.

He loved attending the Indy 500 and Brickyard 400 races.

He was also a member of Bare Feet Are Legal.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Sampson; half-brother, Chris Pankey; aunt, Brenda Willcutt; uncle, Randy Willcutt; maternal grandparents; paternal grandfather, and step-grandfather, Robert Lane.

Survivors include his loving wife of 20 years, Misty Sampson; parents, William (Dixie) Sampson of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Bennie Sampson of Alabama; father and mother-in-law, Jerry (Betty) Bell of Nashville; grandmother, Lorraine Sampson of Fort Myers, Florida; step-grandmother, Lila Lane of Deland, Florida; half-brother, Carl Pankey of Paragould, Arkansas; “siblings,” Kristie Lamb of Seymour, Michelle Garcia of Bloomington, Matthew Abrams and Matthew McDaniel, both of Indianapolis, Tabitha Moit of Indianapolis, and Bud Williamson of Bloomington; aunts, Susan Seagle and Maureen (Roger) Nodruff, both of Fort Myers, Florida; uncle, Rick Willcutt of Olympian Village, Missouri; nieces and nephews, Natalie (Jacob) Terry, Olivia (Al) Curtis, Trevor Pankey, Shelby Williamson, Jenna Williamson and Joe Williamson; great-nieces and great-nephew, Abigail, Allison and Amelia Curtis, Anna Grace and Madison Pankey, Jisela and Jaselyn Garcia, and Bentley Pankey; and Godchildren, Laura and Stephanie Harrison. Also surviving are numerous cousins and extended family.

In keeping with his wishes Gregory will be cremated and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
