Joan Alice (Pauley) Goff

Joan Alice (Pauley) Goff, age 85, was born on March 13, 1932, in East Chicago, Indiana.

She passed peacefully on January 13, 2018, at Brown County Health and Living.

Joan was the youngest of five children born to Edward Everett and Mary Elizabeth Dwyer Pauley.

She married her sweetheart, Richard Edward Goff, on May 18, 1957, in Griffith, Indiana. They raised their family in Kenosha and Milwaukee, Wisconsin, before returning to Columbus to enjoy “grandparenting.”

She lived a Christ-centered life as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She leaves a beautiful legacy of devotion to family, her church, and to serving others.

She was an avid writer of poetry and loved to share this talent, along with inspirational thoughts to lift the spirits of those around her.

Joan is survived by her children, Kathy (Bryan) Busselberg and Marilynn (Andy) Spurling, both of Columbus and Brian (Beverley) Goff of Orem, Utah; grandchildren, Michael (Angela) Busselberg, Brandon Busselberg, Justin Busselberg, Rachel Busselberg, Rebecca (Dan) Oliver, Kristin (Aaron) Hellbush, Connor (Michelle) Spurling, Chase Spurling, Taylor Spurling, Shelbie Goff, Spencer Goff, Samuel Goff and Brianna Goff; as well as eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; daughter, Jenni Maureen Goff; brothers, Walter and William Pauley, and sisters, Evelyn Clark and Violet Marie Hill.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, January 19, 2018, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3330 30th St., Columbus, Indiana. Family and friends may attend a viewing preceding the service from 11 a.m. until time of service at the church. Interment will be at Garland Brook Cemetery following the service.
