Corban Pollitt, Columbus East senior wrestler

Pollitt bumped up a weight class to 160 pounds and scored a first-period pin in the Olympians’ 62-12 win at Columbus North.

His performance last week: “I thought I did pretty well going out there and getting a pin.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “Just listen to music.”

Favorite drink: “Chocolate milk”

Favorite food: “Pizza”

Favorite book: “To Kill a Mockingbird.”

Favorite class: “Weights.”

Role model: “My dad (Ian Pollitt).”

Best advice: “Once you’ve wrestled, everything else in life is easy.”

Athletics goal: “To be a state champion.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Hawaii, because I’ve never been there, and I like the beach.”

Betsy King, Columbus North sophomore swimmer

King won the 200- and 500-yard freestyle and swam on the winning 400 freestyle relay team in the Bull Frogs’ 99-87 loss to Franklin Central.

Her performance last week: “I was definitely surprised because I haven’t been doing a lot of distance work, but it felt pretty good because I haven’t done it in awhile.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “Just get lots of rest, eat good foods, prepare the week before in practice and keep my head up.”

Favorite drink: “Probably Gatorade”

Favorite food: “Pasta”

Favorite book: “To Kill a Mockingbird”

Favorite class: “Biomedical”

Role model: “I would say my sisters (Sarah and Ashley King) because they’re a lot older than me and they’ve experienced a lot, so it’s kind of helpful for me.”

Best advice: I would just say, listen to your coaches, your teachers and parents because it helps in the long run, and just keep moving forward.”

Athletics goal: “To make it to state every year individually and to swim in college.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Iceland, because I like the beach.”
