Get in on fun at Rotary scholarship benefit

Columbus Sunrise Rotary Club will host its third annual World Cup Corn Hole Board Tournament on Saturday to raise money for a scholarship fund and the Rotary’s student exchange program.

The event will be 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Taylor Brothers, 4555 Middle Road. The top three teams will receive a Golden Corn trophy and bragging rights.

Local residents are invited to register as a team of two and indicate the country your team will represent. Teams are encouraged to dress in your country’s colors or traditional costume and to bring a related dish to share — one team per country will be allowed.

Awards will be given for the best costumes and best food items. A silent auction and 50/50 raffle will be conducted until 8 p.m.

Entry fee is $40 per team, with the rate of $20 per team with a student or military identification. Teams are guaranteed to have a minimum of two games and you must be 15 or older to enter.

Proceeds benefit the Dr. Thor Bogren Scholarship Fund at Ivy Tech Community College Columbus, established in memory of a former Sunrise Rotary member, and the Columbus Rotary Student Exchange Program.

Participants may hand deliver check payment and entry form to a club member or email an entry form to [email protected], with payment within 24 hours accepted at Century 21 Breeden Realtors, 700 Washington St., at the receptionist desk.
