LAS VEGAS — Authorities say they found a body on a mountain east of Las Vegas.

Las Vegas police discovered the body Thursday while they were searching for a pair of hikers on Frenchman Mountain.

Homicide Lt. Dan McGrath says a homicide investigation was opened after police saw that the body had been stabbed about six times.

Police say the hikers were located.

One hiker suffered a head injury.
