SENECA FALLS, N.Y. — Thousands are expected to attend the Women March in Seneca Falls this weekend.
The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reports the coalition will return to Seneca Falls in central New York on Saturday, joining protesters across the nation in demanding gender equality.
This year’s event at the site of the first women’s rights convention includes scheduled speeches by Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren and Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul.
Auburn Mayor Melina Carnicelli, the event’s lead organizer, says the group is working toward “visibility around women’s leadership and women’s equality.” Organizers hope to discuss equal pay, racism, LGBTQ issues and reproductive rights.
