SMYRNA, Del. — Delaware State Police are conducting an investigation after human skeletal remains were found near Smyrna.

Officers found human bones off of Mount Friendship Road Friday. The remains were turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science, which will try to determine the identification and cause of death.

No additional details were immediately released.
