NATCHEZ, Miss. — An anti-abortion display in Mississippi is being moved after organizers say city leaders approved it for a less prominent site than in the past.

The Natchez Democrat reports that Pro-Life Natchez-Adams County sponsors the display of 100 small white crosses.

The group’s co-chairwoman, Ruth Powers, says not many cars or pedestrians go near the spot that aldermen approved for the display this year. So, the group is moving the crosses to a vacant lot near a church.

In the past, city leaders have allowed the display on a prominent spot on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River.

Mayor Darryl Grennell says a hotel manager complained last year about the display being part of what guests saw from their windows. He disagrees that the spot approved this year was more secluded.
