Lowell Amos Angle

GREENSBURG

Lowell Amos Angle, 92, of New Salem, IN, passed away on January 19, 2018 in Greensburg, IN. Lowell was born on July 20, 1925 in Richland Township, Rush County, to the late Leroy and Mary (Carroll) Angle. He was married to Louise (Coy) Angle on December 10, 1944 in Clarksburg, IN. Louise preceded him in death on January 7, 2013.

Lowell lived in Rush County his entire life and was a 1943 graduate of New Salem High School where he was an Eagles Basketball Player. Lowell was a farmer and served Rush County from 1962 to 1988 as County Councilman and Commissioner. In these roles, he served on the Rush Memorial Hospital and Drainage Boards. He was a member of the New Salem United Methodist Church. Lowell was a true family man. He and Louise enjoyed watching their children and grandchildren participate in sporting and school activities.

He is survived by sons, William, Max (Carla) and Mark (Jacquelyn) Angle, seven grandchildren, Jan Thoman (Steve), Kris Sasher (Mike), Amanda Angle, Danielle Mosley (Kenny), Mary Angle, Erin Burkett (Brent) and Craig Angle (Anna), and 10 great-grandchildren.

Lowell was preceded in death by brothers, William, Maurice and Russell, a sister, Helen Abercrombie, a daughter-in-law, Joyce Henderson Angle, and great-grandson, Gabriel Mosley.

Services will be held at 10 AM Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville. Pastor Kay Bond will preside. Friends are welcome to visit from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday, January 24, at the mortuary. Burial will be in Rushville’s East Hill Cemetery.
