ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Bernalillo County Sheriff’s officials say they’re investigating the discovery of a dead body in northeast Albuquerque.

Albuquerque TV station KOB says the discovery was made around 1:30 a.m. Sunday after sheriff’s detectives were called to the scene.

The body reportedly was found near an irrigation ditch.

Sheriff’s officials say it is too early to confirm a cause of death, but it’s being treated as suspicious.

There’s no immediate word on the body’s identity.
