CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A Wyoming judge has sentenced a 58-year-old transient who killed a 21-year-old woman in the basement of a Cheyenne restaurant last summer to 50 years to life in prison.

Emigdio Lara Sr. was sentenced Friday by District Judge Catherine Rogers.

Lara had pleaded guilty last August to second-degree murder in the killing of Victoria Juarez, whose body was found in the basement of a south Cheyenne restaurant on June 26. She had cuts on her body and multiple injuries to the back of her head.

Lara had been living in the basement during that time.
