RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Authorities say a California resident spotted a burglar by checking the interior security camera while his home was being fumigated.

The Press-Enterprise reports the Riverside resident called police just before dawn Monday. Officers arrived and realized the burglar was still inside.

Authorities say the suspect left through a side window and attempted to jump over a wall but was intercepted and detained.

The suspect was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the incident, then arrested on suspicion of burglary, resisting police using violence and violating parole.

The suspect is being held without bail at the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside.
