EDINBURGH
Janice Bennett, 79, of Edinburgh, Indiana, passed away January 19, 2018, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin, Indiana.
She was born April 16, 1938, in Russell Springs, Kentucky, the daughter of Kotz and Verna (Sherer) Grider. She married Herbert D. Bennett April 25, 1952.
She is survived by her husband; sons, Michael (Lisa) Bennett of North Vernon, Indiana, Tim (Lisa) Bennett of Columbus, Indiana, and Rick Bennett of Trafalgar, Indiana; daughters, Linda S. Pruett of Columbus, Indiana, Jeanie Bennett of Columbus, Indiana, and Tammy (Jimmy) Swallows of Edinburgh, Indiana; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Grider of Columbus, Indiana; and a sister, Verna (Wayne) Webb of Columbus, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Stephen Dale Bennett and Roger Dale Bennett; brothers, Royce, Kurt, Bill, Norman, Boo and Donald Grider; and sisters, Doris Rooks, Lois Morgan, and Joyce Warriner.
She was a member of the Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh, Indiana. She enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, singing and playing piano, and car rides.
A funeral will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 25, 2018, at Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church by the Rev. Lewis Burton. Calling will be at the church from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, and from 11:00 a.m. until time of service Thursday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
