LINCOLN, Neb. — A former Lincoln High School girls basketball coach accused of sexually assaulting a student in a classroom has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Lincoln Journal Star reports that 33-year-old Marcus Perry entered a written plea Monday. He had been set to appear in court Wednesday.
Perry had been the Lincoln High School girls basketball coach and staffer before being put on administrative leave since he was accused in December. He was arrested Dec. 14 at his home on suspicion of first-degree sexual assault of a student.
Police say a 17-year-old student told school officials and officers that Perry touched her genitals in an in-school suspension room on Dec. 7.
A trial date has not yet been set.
