Olympians sweep Pirates

Columbus East celebrated senior night Tuesday by sweeping Greensburg. The Olympians won the boys meet 128-50 and the girls meet 103-77.

Evan Wieneke won the 200-yard freestyle (2 minutes, 0.70 seconds) and 100 freestyle (53.98), and Ryan Singer took the 200 individual medley (2:15.09) and 100 breaststroke (1:06.28) to lead the East boys. Griff McGaha won the 50 freestyle (24.27), DJ Rhodes took the diving competition (195.25), Justin Borowski captured the 500 freestyle (5:48.72) and the Olympians swept the 200 medley (1:51.34), 200 freestyle (1:45.17) and 200 freestyle (3:41.50) relays.

Whitley Eicher won the 200 freestyle (2:08.14) and 100 butterfly (1:01.83), Jennifer Utterback took the 200 IM (2:31.63) and 100 backstroke (1:06.32) and Lizzy Frazier captured the 50 freestyle (27.36) and 100 freestyle (58.13) to lead the girls. Maggie Gregory won the diving (200.50), Marin Wieneke took the 100 breaststroke (1:17.38) and East captured the 200 medley (1:57.82) and 400 freestyle (4:00.97) relays.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Jets fall to Chargers

GREENSBURG — Hauser trailed only 18-16 at halftime, but North Decatur pulled away in the second half for a 39-28 Mid-Hoosier Conference win.

Sarah Tedder led the Jets (5-16, 3-3) with eight points and five rebounds. Bree Hadley and Tessa Sims also grabbed five rebounds.

Trinity tops Rebels

HANOVER — Class A No. 8 Trinity Lutheran used double-doubles from Abby Hackman and Savannah Harweger to knock off Southwestern (Hanover) 66-57.

Hackman had 23 points and 10 rebounds, and Harweger added 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Cougars (17-4). Sydney Jaynes scored 10 points.

Stars stop Panthers

NORTH VERNON — Bedford North Lawrence jumped out to a 27-10 lead after one quarter and went on to hand Jennings County a 64-47 Hoosier Hills Conference loss.

Travis Wilson led the Panthers (4-10, 0-3) with 11 points and four rebounds.
