GIBSONIA, Pa. — Police say officers called to a violent domestic dispute near Pittsburgh shot and wounded a man armed with a gun.

Authorities say Northern Regional Police Department officers were called to the Richland Township shortly before 6 a.m. Thursday and found a woman bleeding from head wounds outside. A man was also outside but fled back inside.

Allegheny County investigators say that when the man came back out onto a porch, he pointed a firearm directly at one of the officers. The other two officers fired, hitting him in the arm and abdomen.

The man and the woman were taken to a local trauma center for treatment. Their conditions weren’t immediately available and their names weren’t released. County police are investigating and ask anyone with information to call investigators.
