STOCKTON, Calif. — Police in Northern California say a 12-year-old boy was arrested after attempting to rob a gas station at gunpoint and fleeing on a skateboard.

KTXL-TV reports police arrested the boy at Sierra Middle School in Stockton and that officers searched the school and found no weapons.

Gas station employee James Ratto tells the station the boy pointed the gun at a co-worker’s face and demanded money. He says his colleague screamed and the boy got frightened and ran away.

Stockton Police say the attempted robbery on Jan. 22 was caught on surveillance video, which shows the boy wearing a grey hoodie and a purple bandanna covering his face. He is also seen leaving the area on a skateboard.
