Edward F. Mann, 90, of Columbus died 10:25 a.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

He was born in Evansville May 20, 1927 the son of Gustav and Holly Williams Mann.

He married Bettye Sights May 12, 1956 in Henderson, Kentucky; she survives.

Edward worked 33 years as a claims superintendent for State Farm Insurance, retiring from the Columbus office.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, 50-year member of Lessing Masonic Lodge in Evansville, Scottish Rite and Hadi Shrine, Columbus High Twelve Club and Columbus Elks Club.

He was a licensed pilot and loved to fly and read.

He was an avid World War II buff. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the aircraft carrier Ticonderoga.

He is survived by his wife Bettye of Columbus; son, David Mann of Indianapolis, daughter, Gayle (Chris) Kelley of Columbus; grandchildren, Steven and Zachary Mann, Olivia, Hannah and Beck Kelley, Andrea (Jerry) Infantino and Dr. April Lee; and great-grandson, Leander Green.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steven Edward Mann, and sisters, Carol Lee and Marilyn Schmitt.

Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday Myers~Reed Chapel on 25th Street with the Rev. Howard Boles officiating. Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday with a Masonic Memorial Service at 4 p.m. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. (CST) Tuesday at Oakhill Cemetery in Evansville.
