Helen B. Pruitt

INDIANAPOLIS

Helen B. Pruitt, 96, of Indianapolis, formerly of Columbus, passed from this life at 3:38 a.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Manor Care South in Indianapolis.

Mrs. Pruitt was born February 3, 1921, in Bartholomew County, Indiana, the loving daughter of Roy and Bonnie Long Neville.

She married Edward W. Pruitt February 7, 1942. He preceded her in death November 17, 1997.

Mrs. Pruitt retired from Amos Plastics in Edinburgh after many years of service.

She was a faithful member of the Old Union United Church of Christ near Taylorsville where she was a member of the Ladies Aide, was a former Sunday School teacher and song leader.

She had been a member of the Sixty-One Home Economics Club.

Mrs. Pruitt is survived by her daughters, Judith Poore of New Whiteland, Indiana, Linda Pruitt of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Nancy (Charles) Leeman of Noblesville, Indiana; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley (Tom) Brown of Columbus, Indiana; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Mrs. Pruitt was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward; her son, Robert L. Pruitt; and brothers, Kenneth, Lindley, and Wayne Neville.

The funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Reverend J. Kirby Rupp officiating. Family and friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
