CARSON CITY, Nev. — Officials say an 86-year-old inmate serving a sentence for attempted lewdness with a minor in Las Vegas died at a Nevada prison medical facility in Carson City.

The Nevada Department of Corrections reports that William Norman Frazier died Thursday at the medical center at Northern Nevada Correctional Center.

Frazier’s attorney, Yi Zheng, argued during Frazier’s sentencing in September 2016 in Clark County District Court that he had been diagnosed with dementia and health problems, and had moved to California.

Frazier was sentenced to six to 15 years.

Prison officials say the Carson City sheriff-coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine his cause of death.
