Who’ll play on Super Saturday? Semifinals tonight

Today’s semifinal pairings are set for the Elementary Basketball League boys and girls tournaments at Columbus East High School.

In the girls tournament, Southside will play Clifty Creek in the main gym, and Richards will face Mt. Healthy in the auxiliary gym, both at 6 p.m. today. The boys will play at 7:15 p.m. today, with Smith meeting Clifty Creek in the main gym and Richards taking on CSA Lincoln in the auxiliary gym.

The girls championship will be at 8 a.m. Saturday, followed by the boys title game at around 9:30 a.m.

Tickets for each session of the tournament are $3 for adults, $2 for students and $7 for a family pass.

In girls quarterfinal action Wednesday, Southside beat Schmitt 31-17, Clifty Creek topped Taylorsville 31-26, Richards downed CSA Fodrea 43-18 and Mt. Healthy knocked off Parkside 40-17.

In Wednesday’s boys quarterfinals, Smith beat Schmitt 47-37, Clifty downed Taylorsville 39-34, Richards topped CSA Fodrea 46-23 and CSA Lincoln edged Mt. Healthy 39-35.
