Theater plans auditions for ‘All My Sons’

Jackson County Community Theatre will conduct auditions for the final show of its 2017-18 season, Arthur Miller’s “All My Sons,” at 7 p.m. Feb. 18 and 20, at Royal Off-the-Square Theatre, 121 W. Walnut St. in Brownstown.

Show dates are April 27 and 28, and May 4 and 5.

Miller’s 1947 drama was winner of the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Play.

Men’s roles (and approximate ages) are Joe Keller (about 60), Chris Keller (late 20s/early 30s), George Deever (30s), Dr. Jim Bayless (40s) and Frank Lubey (30s). Women’s roles are Kate Keller (about 60), Ann Deever (late 20s/early 30s), Sue Bayless (40s) and Lydia Lubbey (20s). The role of Bert, a young boy, should be 8 to 11 years old.

No preparation is required for auditions, except to bring a list of dates that would possibly conflict with rehearsals. Anyone who is unable to attend the scheduled auditions but would like to be considered for a part should contact the theater by email at [email protected] or by calling 812-358-5228.

Backstage jobs also need to be filled. The jobs include costuming, props, set-building, painting, lights, sound and stage crew. Persons interested in working in non-acting jobs may come to auditions or contact the director at [email protected].
