BEAUMONT, Texas — Colton Weisbrod scored 21 points to lead five in double-figure scoring, and Lamar closed on a 10-2 run to beat McNeese 86-80 on Saturday.
Kalob Ledoux hit a jump shot and McNeese (7-11, 4-4 Southland Conference) had its last lead, 78-76 with 4:07 remaining. Zjori Bosha made a layup and the Cardinals shot 8 of 11 from the free-throw line to end it. The Cowboys missed four straight shots before Jacob Ledoux made a jumper with 15 seconds left.
Joey Frenchwood added 17 points for Lamar (13-9, 5-4), which made 30 of 39 free throws (77 percent) and outrebounded the Cowboys 38-28.
Bosha and Josh Nzeakor each had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Cardinals. James Harrison added 10 points.
Kalob Ledoux scored 20 points and Quatarrius Wilson had 19 to lead McNeese. Jarren Greenwood chipped in 13 points.
