Empty Bowls organizers put out a call for more help

Organizers for the 20th annual Empty Bowls fundraiser for local food banks need more donated soup, chili, breads and desserts for the Feb. 3 event.

Planners said they are concerned about having enough to feed hundreds of diners expected at Central Middle School, 725 Seventh St. in Columbus.

The event features a variety of food along with music this year from the Banister Family Bluegrass Band and a group of contra dancers from Bloomington.

Admission prices varies. An artisan bowl, all-you-can-eat soup, bread and drink is $25.

All-you-can-eat soup, bread and drink is $12.

Children 12 and younger are admitted for $3.

Desserts are $2.

Advance tickets are available at Viewpoint Books at Sixth and Washington streets in downtown Columbus.
