Volunteers in Medicine received a grant of more than $11,000 enough to allow the clinic to switch from paper charts to electronic medical records before the end of the year.

1993

The Columbus East Olympians football team was reclassified as a 4A team for the 1993-94 season, dropping from 5A the previous two years.

1968

Thirty-five doctors, 52 registered nurses, 21 practical nurses and nine “Candy Stripers” donated their time to immunize almost 2,000 children ages 12 and younger against measles during a “Stop Measles” project sponsored by Bartholomew County Medical Society. Members of Columbus Junior Chamber of Commerce furnished rides for parents and children who needed transportation.
