ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. — Authorities are investigating the shooting death of a 43-year-old woman in southwest Wyoming.

Sweetwater County Sheriff Mike Lowell says the shooting occurred Sunday afternoon at a residence north of Rock Springs.

The victim has been identified as Danielle Nichole Martin, who lived in the Superior area east of Rock Springs.

Lowell says a 41-year-old man has been taken into custody on a preliminary charge of manslaughter.

An autopsy will be done on the victim and the incident remains under investigation.
