PUEBLO, Colo. — A body has been recovered from a house fire in Pueblo.

The Pueblo Chieftain reports that firefighters extinguished the fire Tuesday afternoon.

Fire Chief Shawn Shelton says the home was completely engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. He says a dog was rescued and the body was discovered in the home’s living room.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Pueblo County Coroner Brian Cotter was on the scene as were Pueblo Police Department investigators. Cotter said he had been talking with the victim’s family but would not release the person’s name Tuesday night.
