NORWOOD, Mass. — Police say two people have died and two others have been hurt in an early morning head-on crash in Massachusetts.

Norwood police say the crash involving a pickup truck and a car occurred just after 1 a.m. Wednesday on Walpole Street, which is Route 1A.

The driver of the car, 20-year-old Victoria Cody, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her front seat passenger, 22-year-old Alex Pandolfo, died at the hospital. Both were from Norwood. A rear seat passenger was flown to a Boston hospital with serious injuries.

The pickup driver, found lying on the roadside with a leg injury, was also hospitalized.

The names of the two people injured were not released.

The cause remains under investigation.
