NORTH VERNON
Betty J. Stites, 94, of North Vernon, formerly of Greencastle, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018 at her residence.
Betty was born in Greencastle on February 29, 1924, the daughter of Wm. “Nez” and Maude Mae (Marsh) Kirkham, and was a graduate of Greencastle High School.
Mrs. Stites enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles and carpentry.
Survivors include her daughter, Marsha Wiggins (husband-George), North Vernon; and two grandchildren, Jennifer and Corey Wiggins, both of North Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 41 years, Charles Stites; a son, John Stites; four brothers, Scott, Bob, Bill, and Wayne Kirkham; and a sister, Bernadine Shinn.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Champion officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home from noon until time of service.
