ARVADA, Colo. — A man armed with a knife was shot and killed by police in suburban Denver after authorities say he attacked officers and a police dog.

Arvada police said Thursday that the shooting happened after officers were called to a report of a suspicious person and discovered that the man was wanted on a felony warrant and was being investigated for violating a restraining order.

A statement from police says that officers found the man in an “enclosed area” and commanded him several times to drop it before he came at the officers and the dog with the knife.
