KENMARE, N.D. — A Minot woman faces several charges after allegedly assaulting a Kenmare police officer who tried to arrest her on outstanding warrants.

The Minot Daily News reports 29-year-old Carissa Marcy had been wanted on charges including one that she stole more than $15,000 from her mother last year.

She’s accused of striking and shoving the Kenmare officer on Monday, and faces new charges including felony simple assault on a police officer. That carries a maximum punishment of five years in prison.

Marcy could enter pleas during a March 8 court hearing. Court documents indicate she’s representing herself. A home telephone listing couldn’t be found.
