CORINTH, N.Y. — Police say two people were killed when the car they were in veered off a rural road near the southern edge of the Adirondacks and hit a tree.

The Saratoga County sheriff’s office says 23-year-old Genessa Marie Coon of Corinth and 21-year-old Cody M. Fitzpatrick of Whitehall died late Wednesday afternoon.

Police did not immediately know the cause of the accident.
