GLASTONBURY, Conn. — Police have shot and injured a suspect they say led officers on a car chase in Connecticut while driving a stolen vehicle.

East Hartford police say they received a report about the stolen vehicle Sunday night. Officials said multiple officers were injured during a confrontation in a parking lot with the suspect, who sped off as officers opened fire.

Authorities say other East Hartford officers chased the suspect into Glastonbury. Police say the suspect crashed into several vehicles during the chase, which ended when East Hartford officers again opened fire and wounded the suspect.

The suspect is hospitalized in unknown condition.

Police say several officers were treated for minor injuries at hospitals and released.

State police and the State’s Attorney’s Office are investigating.
