WILMINGTON, Del. — Police say a man and woman found dead Monday in a Delaware home had been there for several days.

Wilmington Police said Monday night they are investigating the deaths as a double homicide.

Police say they were called Monday afternoon to Lamotte Street for a welfare check.

When they arrived at the home, they found a 29-year-old woman who appeared to have been shot in the head and a 43-year old man who appeared to have been shot, stabbed, and beaten.

Police say their investigation is ongoing and that the circumstances of the deaths remain unknown. Thus far, police say no witnesses have come forward or been located.
