Columbus Christian rallies for victory

Columbus Christian trailed 26-5 midway through the second quarter Monday night before rallying for a 64-61 win against Indiana Deaf.

Taylor Hilliard hit two free throws with 48 seconds left to give the Crusaders (11-18) the lead. C.J. Reed added a pair of free throws to ice it.

“We fought and fought and fought there in the third quarter, and we said, ‘Don’t let this slip away,’” Columbus Christian coach Kevin Roth said. “We’ve been close in a lot of the game, and it was good to pull this one out.”

The Crusaders overcame 28 turnovers by forcing 20 turnovers and outrebounding the Deaf Hoosiers 39-27. Conner Emily led Columbus Christian with 26 points, while Reed added 20.
