RALEIGH, N.C. — State law enforcement officials have accused a North Carolina police officer of using an anonymous texting app to send pictures of his genitals to women and to solicit for sex.

The State Bureau of Investigation said in a news release that 23-year-old Winterville police officer Deon Treyquan Bryant was arrested on Tuesday. The SBI said Bryant used his position to get personal information on women, then sent the pictures and the solicitation.

Winterville Police Chief Ryan Willhite said he received a report from a citizen about Bryant that prompted an internal investigation, but he provided no additional details, except to say Bryant was fired.

Bryant, who’s charged with three counts of dissemination of obscene material, is free on a $10,000 bond. It’s not known if he has an attorney.
