MURRAY, Utah — Authorities say a teen boy died after falling through a roof of a building near a lot with construction equipment.

The Deseret News reports Murray Police Sgt. Marvin Barlow says the boy and two other teenagers were climbing on a roof about 9 p.m. Monday.

The boy was found dead at the scene.

A Police spokesman says the building the teens were on was not under construction.

Police were investigating why the three were there. Barlow says officers determined through an initial investigation that they did not have permission to be on the fenced-in property.

The name of the boy killed in the fall was not immediately released as police sought to notify his family.

No other details were available.
