North rolls past Rebels

INDIANAPOLIS — Claire Thompson won all four events and the all-around competition Tuesday night to lead Columbus North to a tri-match victory.

The fourth-ranked Bull Dogs finished with a team score of 109.375. Host Roncalli had 96.925, and one Decatur Central gymnast scored 28.825.

Thompson won the vault (9.35), bars (9.75), beam (9.7) and floor (9.4) on her way to a 38.2 in the all-around. Sami Heathcote took second on the vault (8.875), bars (9.05), beam (9.525) and floor (9.2) and in the all-around (36.65).

Alayne Davis finished third on the vault (8.6) and floor (8.65) and fourth on the bars (8.125). Ashley Niebrugge took third on the beam (9.15), fifth on the floor (8.425) and sixth on the bars (7.775).

Tova Edwards was fourth on the vault (8.55) and beam (9.075) and in the all-around (33.775). Grace Ellis finished fifth on the bars (8.075) and sixth in the all-around (30.85).

Columbus Christian wins

MADISON — Columbus Christian jumped out to a 40-18 halftime lead and went on to post a 57-41 win at Madison Christian Academy, avenging a loss from earlier in the season.

C.J. Reed led the Crusaders (12-18) with 24 points. Conner Emily added 15.

Owls down Panthers

NORTH VERNON — Jennings County outscored Seymour 39-31 in the second half, but couldn’t overcome a 37-21 halftime deficit in a 68-60 loss to Seymour.

Gage Walters led the Panthers (5-13) with 17 points. Travis Wilson added 16 points and nine rebounds.

Braves top Trinity

BROWNSTOWN — Trinity Lutheran was within seven points at halftime, but Brownstown Central pulled away in the second half for a 73-58 triumph.

Jacob Rowe led the Cougars (6-13) with 22 points. Tyler Goecker added 11.
