YALOBUSHA COUNTY, Miss. — A Mississippi inmate who escaped a jail transport by jumping out of a moving vehicle has been caught.

WTVA-TV reports Rodger Haven was found in a ditch on Tuesday along Interstate 55, not far from where he escaped. Tallahatchie County Sheriff William Brewer Jr. says a shackled Haven escaped Monday night by jumping from a vehicle going 70 mph on the interstate. Brewer says his department had been searching for Haven for months before his arrest on charges including failure to appear in drug court.

Haven, who is in good condition at a local hospital, may face a felony escape charge.
