Jerry Hill

Jerry Hill, 74, of Waynesville, died Wednesday February 7, 2018 at Schneck Medical Center.

Before retirement, he was employed as a journeyman pipe fitter.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1964.

Jerry was a member of the local 440 Plumber’s Pipefitters Union and the Masonic Lodge in Jackson County.

He loved racing, especially dirt tracks, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Born March 12, 1943, in Lebanon, Kentucky, Jerry was the son of Otis and Mary Sullivan Hill.

He married Dotty McCarty December 24, 1964 and she survives.

Other survivors include his sons, Jerry D. Hill of North Vernon and Troy (Mindy) Hill of Columbus; grandchildren, Samantha (Pat) McGill of Indianapolis, Jerry “Cody” Hill of Greensburg, Noah Hill and Aubrey Hill, both of

North Vernon, and Clinton T. Hill (Hannah Denney) of Atlanta, Georgia; and a sister, Rita Crouch of Bardstown, Kentucky.

The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with the Rev. Randy McCarty officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from noon until service time at the funeral home. Burial with military graveside rites

will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be donated to Schneck Medical Center Cancer Center.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Kathryn White, Imogene Ruley, Betty Laverne Clan and Edna Hill, and a brother, Otis Hill Jr.
