Rotary club event aids scholarship fund

Rotary Club of Columbus Sunrise raised nearly $2,000 at its third annual Corn Hole Tournament on Jan. 20 at Taylor Brothers Construction Company.

A total of $1,977 was raised, surpassing the club’s goal of $1,800. All funds raised support the Dr. Thor Bogren Scholarship Fund at Ivy Tech Community College, the club’s youth exchange program, and showcase Rotary’s International reach and provide fellowship opportunities for Rotarians and non-Rotarians.

This year’s winners were:

First place: Brian and Amber Payne, representing the Republic of Korea

Second place: Matt Diebolt and Randy Wells, representing Jamaica

Third place: Dave Shaw and Joe Shafran, representing Haiti.
