James Michael Armstrong

COLUMBUS

James Michael Armstrong, 59, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018 at Community East Hospital in Indianapolis.

“Mike” was born in Columbus on April 2, 1958 to Thomas and Helen Armstrong.

He was a 1976 graduate of Hauser High School.

Mike enjoyed fishing, collecting antique oil lamps, spending time with family, good movies, and training his rescue dog, Boots.

He spent most of his employed life managing local restaurants; McDonald’s and Godfather’s pizza. He had also been a longtime employee of Bob Evans.

Survivors include sons, James Brian Armstrong and Thomas Scott Armstrong; sister and brother-in-law Sandy and Alan Borders; nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly, Jason Harden, Angie Maltby, Heather Ison, Aaron Ison, Brandon Rich, Glenn Meredith Jr., Larraine Rich, Grace Meredith, Dorothy Meredith, D.J. London; and several great-nieces and -nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Deborah Harden, Donetta Ison and Candy Seniours.

Mike had requested no service. Cremation is planned. A family gathering to celebrate his life will be scheduled at a later date.

Donations in his memory can be made to donor’s choice of charities.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
