Richard M. ‘Rick’ Lauer

NINEVEH

Richard M. “Rick” Lauer, 66, of Nineveh, died at 1:25 p.m. February 9, 2018, at Willow Crossing Health and Rehabilitation.

Rick was born September 18, 1951, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of Richard Paul and Clotilda E. Prince Lauer.

He married Judith A. Crotcher.

He was a graduate of Bishop Luers High school in Fort Wayne, and was previously employed as a construction supervisor at Moellering Construction Company, Inc. and Reith-Riley Construction and Berns Construction Company, Inc.

He also was a member of the Indiana National Guard.

He enjoyed boating and spending time with his family and friends, along with his friends and caregivers at Just Friends and Keepsake Village.

Survivors include his wife, Judy; children, Sara E. (Guiliana Sorce) Lauer of Germany and James A. Ward and Cynthia L. (Jeff) York, both of Fort Wayne; brother, Michael T. (Kathy) Lauer of Southport; sisters, Sylvia A. (Tom) Mitsch of Seattle, Washington, Sandra Lauer of Pensacola, Florida, and Sue Ellen Giles of Pensacola, Florida; and six grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Nichole Marie Lauer.

Calling will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804, with calling hours from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Green Lawn Memorial Park in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
