COLUMBUS
L. Dale Davis, 79, of Columbus, passed from this life at 1:48 a.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at his home.
Dale retired from Cummins Engine Company in 1997 where he had served for 34 years.
Mr. Davis was born January 7, 1939 in Daviess County. He was the son of David Arthur and Leona Clark Davis.
He married Trudy Gilley on October 1, 1961.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to the time of service at the funeral home.
Entombment will be at Garland Brook Mausoleum.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years; their children, Tami (Dan) Fischer of Columbus, Rodney (Mary) Davis of Seymour and Brian (Nicole) Davis of Saginaw, Michigan; grandchildren, Ryan (Caroline) Fischer, Louis Del Rosario, Alisha Davis, Emily Davis and Brandon Davis; great-grandchildren, Walker Fischer and Chandler Fischer; a brother, Don (Betty) Davis of Washington, Indiana; and sisters, Louidean Dillon of Huntsville Alabama and Norma Sturgeon of Vincennes, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clark Davis; and a sister, Marie Matheny.
