Naomi Zins Collyer, 86, of Columbus, passed away February 11, 2018, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Naomi was born October 25, 1931 in Dearborn County, the daughter of Henry and Freda Meeker Zins.

She married Francis “Fred” Collyer, who preceded her in death in 1986.

Naomi was a member of First Christian Church and was previously a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing golf, gardening, and singing “Barbershop” style music for over 40 years.

A private family service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday February 15, 2018 at the Jewell – Rittman Family Funeral Home. A private family calling will be one hour prior to the service Thursday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Survivors include a son, John (Sally) Collyer of Rushville, Indiana; Cheryl (Ron) Placek of Columbus; grandchildren Michelle, Andrea, Lara, Ryan, and Carri; 14 great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law Pamela Collyer of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Charles W. Collyer; a brother, Virgil Zins; and sisters, Arlene Moore, Marian Weiler and Sylvia Craig.

Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
