Peer Foods to build new plant in Edinburgh

EDINBURGH — Peer Foods Group is planning on building a new $27 million, 113,000-square-foot warehouse and production facility in Edinburgh.

The expansion will generate 57 new jobs. The investment includes $5.62 million in new equipment. Company officials joined Jason Hester, president of the Greater Columbus Economic Development Corp., as the company asked the Bartholomew County Council for 10-year tax abatements, which were approved unanimously, during Tuesday night’s meeting.

The new plant will be built at 3013 W. Presidential Way, with construction expected to be completed by spring of 2019.
