State Road 46 upgrade planned on city’s west side

A $1.8 million resurfacing project for State Road 46 is planned for early April between County Road 350W and the rail tracks west of State Road 11 on the west side of Columbus.

Milestone, the state’s contractor for the project, will repair the east-west roadbed with full-depth concrete patches, altering the existing median curb and resurfacing the one-mile segment of State Road 46, INDOT officials said. All work will be done at night, according to the state.

Short-term lane restrictions will be in place on State Road 46 and there will be at least one overnight I-65 ramp closure, INDOT officials said. The work is expected to be completed by the end of August.
