SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Authorities say that about 150 people have been evacuated from an extended-stay hotel in Springfield while firefighters battle a large fire.

KYTV reports that crews were called late Wednesday to the Welcome Inn Nightly and Extended Stay, where a fire initially was reported on the third floor. Firefighters say one person has been taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Volunteers with the American Red Cross have been called to help. The cause of the fire wasn’t immediately known.
