GIRLS BASKETBALL

Crusaders advance to final

Columbus Christian advanced to the championship game of the ISCAA South Regional with a 43-22 win against Southside Christian on Friday night.

The Crusaders (4-13) fell behind 13-8 after one quarter, but then outscored Southside 32-3 over the next two quarters to take control. Kayla Jones and Grace Lorimor each scored 11 points to lead Columbus Christian.

The Crusaders will host Bloomington Lighthouse in the regional final at 5:30 p.m. today.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Columbus Christian wins

Columbus Christian trailed by one going into the fourth quarter before rallying for a 49-41 win against Southside Christian in the opening round of the ICSAA South Regional.

Conner Emily led the Crusaders (15-18) with 24 points.

Columbus Christian will play Madison Christian Academy in the semifinals at 1 p.m. today. The regional championship will be at 7:30 p.m.

Lancers top Cougars

EDINBURGH — Matt Cornett tied a South Decatur school record with 41 points, but the Cougars dropped an 87-65 Mid-Hoosier Conference decision at Edinburgh.

Christian Cox led the Lancers (13-8, 4-2) with 26 points. Coltan Henderson added 19, and Parker Bryant had 16. Chris Burris made his first career start on senior night and hit three 3-pointers for nine points.

The Cougars fell to 4-18 overall and 1-5 in the MHC.

Batesville beats Panthers

BATESVILLE — Jennings County was within two points at halftime, but Batesville pulled away for a 61-47 win.

Weston Miller led the Panthers (5-16) with 15 points. Travis Wilson added 13 points and six rebounds.

Brown County falls

GREENWOOD — Isaiah Keefauver scored 32 points, but Brown County fell to Greenwood Christian Academy 90-58.

The Eagles fell to 3-17.
