Semitrailers overturned in two separate Bartholomew County incidents, stalling traffic on Interstate 65 for several hours but causing no injuries.

Mill Race Park remained closed to vehicles and Columbus Parks and Recreation Department urged pedestrians and runners to confine their activities to asphalt and concrete surfaces to avoid hazardous construction areas and damage to new turf.

1968

Irwin Union Bank, Engelking Pattern, Sap’s Bakery, Indiana Linen Service and Lafayette House catering service were awarded citizenship plaques by Bartholomew County United Fund after 70 percent of their employees donated their “fair share” to the annual fund driving.
